Hartford's African American cultural scene has featured a host of entertainment, movies theaters, theatrical drama groups such as the Gilpin Players, visual artists and cartoonists such as the Joe Young Studio on Main Street, and musical performers. The Hartford African American Heritage Trail features some of the contemporary locations where one can experience the local offerings of food, art, and music.
