Hartford has several African American eating establishments. Two of them Cozy Spot and Rajun Cajun are on the Hartford African American Heritage Trail because of their historical significance. Patrons can eat in or take out the delicious cuisine. Two other African American eateries serve mainly take - out meals. Hot Pots located at 2374 Main Street (860-241-8200) and John Fish Market Restaurant at 218 Capen Street (860-727-9205) have all the charm of a small business where customers gather and catch up on the local news in the neighborhood. All of the restaurants feature corn bread, greens, macaroni and cheese, fish, meat entries, candied yams and assorted desserts. Rajun Cajun’s menu offers entrées prepared with the Chef's special Louisiana flare.
