    Tru Books

Originally located in Hartford's Upper Albany Avenue Historic District, Tru Books has the distinction of being the only African American owned bookstore in Hartford. The store stocks books that document the history, literary, and poetic heritage of Africa and its Diaspora. Tru books also stocks books on law and other professional disciplines. Located in the ACA Plaza on Main Street, Tru Books' primary mission is to sell books, but the store has a Juice Bar a nice addition to energize the thirsty reader. Other items for sale include African soaps and aromatic oils, African American and African art and artifacts.
